Aravali power and ALIMCO signed MoU for CSR project

Kanpur: Aravali Power Company Pvt. Ltd. (APCPL) Jhajjar and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India(ALIMCO), Kanpur signed MoU through Virtual platform for Rs. 3 Crores for Distribution of Aids and Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities at 3 Districts of Haryana such as Bhiwani, Rohtak & Mahendergarh under the CSR initiative of APCPL. 

The above proceedings were concluded in the virtual presence of Shri M.V.R. Reddy, CEO, APCPL, and Shri D.R. Sarin, CMD, ALIMCO. Use of technology in the pandemic proven to be a more effective and safe mode of doing things virtually by PSUs.

ARAVALI POWER COMPANY PVT. LTD. (APCPL), is a Joint venture company NTPC, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd(HPGCL). & Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited(IPGCL) Presently under Stage-I, a power plant of 3x 500MW (1500 MW) capacity is constructed, whose all 3 units are commissioned and fully functioning.

ALIMCO is a “Not ForProfit” Central Public Sector Undertaking working under the administrative control of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India and has been manufacturing various types of aids & appliances on a mass scale to meet the requirements of the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), across the country. Brief about ALIMCO is given as under:

In recent past 4 years APCPL with its noble CSR initiatives already spent approx. 8 Crores and catered the need of 3597 number of Divyangjan across various districts of Haryana including Jhajjar, Rewari & Charkhi Dadri, etc. APCPL in partnership with ALIMCO distributed more than 6507 High-end Artificial Limbs and Assistive Devices to Divyangjan in the said districts.

The flagship CSR programme got wide popularity and demand amongst the Divyangjan of the various Districts who received Aids and Appliances from the APCPL-ALIMCO CSR partnership. Deputy Commissioners of the Districts Bhiwani, Rohtak & Mahendergarh also requested APCPL to Distribute Aids and Appliances to Divyangjan at their respective districts. APCPL has notably considered their proposals and extended its CSR support of 3 Crores to the Divyangjan of the above said three Districts through ALIMCO. To materialize the project both the PSUs signed MoU today. Assessment & Distribution camps will be organized by ALIMCO at Bhiwani, Rohtak & Mahendergarh to identify the eligible Divyangjans. 

An estimated cost of Rs 3 Crores will be spent for the Distribution of artificial limbs, aids & appliances such as Motorized Tricycle, Wheel Chairs, BTE Hearing Aids, Crutch Axilla Adjustable, Braille Cane, MSIED Kit, Braille Kit, etc. to Persons with Disabilities. In the ongoing Pandemic, Divyangjan of Haryana will get huge relief, by getting Aids and Appliances which will increase their self-dependability and employment status. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) approved by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India will be followed in all the camps while preventing Divyangjan from COVID-19.
