Western Coalfields Limited Achieves 100% Targets under Special Campaign 5.0

New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, has achieved exceptional success under Special Campaign 5.0 (2nd–31st October 2025), accomplishing 100% of its cleanliness and efficiency targets through systematic, innovative, and inclusive practices.
A total of 257 sites were cleaned, covering an impressive 5.69 lakh sq. ft., while 223 metric tonnes of scrap were scientifically disposed of, generating a revenue of Rs 1.43 crore through recycling and reuse initiatives.

E-Waste Collection Kiosk are designed using repurposed iron and steel furniture, promoting responsible recycling and circular economy practices. “E-Waste to Art” Workshop were conducted for children of employees, encouraging creativity and awareness about sustainability and recycling. Bio-Toilets were installed across multiple WCL Areas, ensuring improved sanitation and hygiene standards.
Safai Mitra Shivir were organized across WCL’s operational Areas, providing health check-ups and distributing safety kits to over 1,250 contractual workers and housekeeping staff. Women-Driven HR Cell at Ekona Mine, Majri Area was formed. It is managed entirely by women employees, reinforcing inclusivity, empowerment, and leadership within the organization.
WCL’s initiatives under Special Campaign 5.0 have successfully blended cleanliness, creativity, and community welfare. The organization continues to stand as a model PSU committed to sustainable practices, inclusivity, and innovative waste-to-resource transformation, contributing meaningfully to the Ministry of Coal’s vision for a cleaner and more responsible future.
