BHEL won Urban Infra Business Leadership Award 2022

New Delhi: For demonstrating ‘Excellence in e-Locomotives Machinery and Plant Solutions’, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has won the prestigious Urban Infra Business Leadership Award 2022. The award was conferred on BHEL at an event held in New Delhi.
BHEL has been a reliable partner of Indian Railways, offering a wide range of products and propulsion systems for various rolling stock.
The company has been instrumental in introducing 3-phase technology for locomotives and EMUs in India. BHEL has established dedicated facilities to manufacture Electric locomotives and Diesel Electric Shunting locomotives at its Jhansi plant. In India, BHEL is the only manufacturer of complete mainline locomotives upto 6000 HP (Type-WAG9H), other than Indian Railways. BHEL has manufactured and supplied more than 450 nos. Electric locomotives upto 6000 HP to Indian Railways and more than 350 nos.
Diesel Electric locomotives to Cement, Steel and Fertilizer plants, Thermal power stations, Coalfields, Ports and other medium and large industries.
