Chairman of SAIL shared his thoughts on the usage of steel in rural sectors
He appeals to the producers that it is very important to understand to meet the requirement of the rural economy by giving them the competitive cost.

New Delhi: The Chairman of the SAIL Mr. Anil Kumar Chaudhary shared his thoughts on the advantages of steel-intensive facilities in the rural areas for better developments. In the webinar organised on October 20, 2020 on “Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Fostering Steel Usage in Rural Economy!” Mr. Chaudhary said, “if we have to grow in the rural sectors then we have to tap the requirement of the entire rural sector.”
The webinar was addressed by the Union Minister for Steel and Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat: Fostering steel usage in Rural Economy-Agriculture, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Food Processing’ organized by the Ministry of Steel in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
He mentions that 64 percent of steel is consumed by the construction sector, 20 percent used in the other sectors, and only 7 percent of steel is being used in rural areas. His concern is total towards the rural areas because large of the population lives in the villages. He also mentioned the schemes which are very important for the rural sector persons and other housing schemes for the contract workers.
