New Delhi: CWC signed an agreement on June 09, 2021, with NCML MktYard Private Limited (NMPL) for facilitating e-trading services to farmers /traders at Central warehouses through an online portal viz. “MKTYARD.com” on PAN India basis.
As per the agreement, any seller, being a registered member of MKTYARD.COM/NMPL, whose agricultural commodities are stored in Warehouses of CWC, may sell their agricultural commodities through the portal of NMPL. This collaboration will help in providing value-added services like grading, assaying, testing, trading from the warehouse itself besides scientific warehousing of agri-produce as a one-stop service center to buyers and sellers.
This arrangement will immensely help farmers to avail the facility of warehouse-based trading from CWC Warehouses itself which will provide real-time remunerative price discovery, reduce logistics cost on account of multiple handling/transportation and bring transparency in wholesale markets.
Online trading shall help farmers, especially small & marginal farmers to fetch better prices for their produce with enhanced accessibility to the Markets and play a big role in supporting the Govt. initiative of doubling the farmer’s income by 2022.
