DVC Received Swachhta Pakhwada Award-2019
New Delhi/Kolkata: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has been bestowed with the prestigious MOP Award (3rd prize) for outstanding performance in 'Swachhta Pakhwada-2019'.
The Award was given by Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Government of India., Dr. P. K. Mukhopadhyay, Member-Secretary received the award on behalf of DVC on 11th July 2019 in New Delhi.
'Swachhta Pakhwada' was observed by DVC with full zeal and enthusiasm across the valley from 16th May to 31st May 2019 with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhta by engaging its employees, CISF personnel etc. The main theme was 'Preventive Activities for Healthy Environment, Clean Drinking Water provision, Cleanliness of Air, Water & Land with special emphasis on Greenery Development'.
During this Pakhwada, DVC started a special project of rain water conservation through construction of Water Harvesting Structure in Damodar Barakar catchment in village Tati of Tatijharia block in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand State.
DVC Maithon Project flagged off drinking water tanker to supply water to the villages under CSR activities during Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan on 24.05.2019.
DVC RTPS, under the scheme 'Safe Drinking Water for All' and observation of 'Swachhta Pakhwada' donated 120 ltr UV Water Purifier cum Chiller to Raghunathpur Govt Polytechnic College.
Seminar, Panel Discussion, Talks, Drawing & Painting Competition, Cultural Programme, Nukkad Natak (Skit) on Swachhta viz., Clean Energy, Waste Management, Personal Hygiene, Taboos & Myths around Menstruation and finally 'Mann Ki Swachhta' were also organized during this Pakhwada for creating awareness towards importance of 'Swachhta'.
