GAIL, GACL signs MoU for setting up a 500 KLD Bioethanol Plant in Gujarat
The Hon'ble Prime Minister has launched a Roadmap for 20% Ethanol Blending in Petrol by 2025, with a view to reduce import of crude oil and save valuable foreign exchange.
New Delhi: Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL), one of the largest producers of Caustic Soda in India, with a production capacity of 1087 TPD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a government-owned natural gas corporation GAIL Limited for setting up a 500 KLD Bioethanol plant in Gujarat.
The Hon'ble Prime Minister has launched a Roadmap for 20% Ethanol Blending in Petrol by 2025, with a view to reduce import of crude oil and save valuable foreign exchange. This is one more step towards our Hon'ble Prime Minister of India's vision of "Atmanirbhar Bharat".
The MoU was signed on December 17, 2021 by Shri MV lyer, Director (Business Development) of GAIL. and Shri Milind Torawane, IAS, Managing Director of GACI in the august presence of Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the Hon ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri K Kailashnathan, IAS (Retd.), Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Pankaj Joshi, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary to Chief Minister of Gujarat and Shri Manoj Jain, CMD of GAIL at Gandhinagar.
