GSL Observes Vigilance Awareness Week
Vasco: Preventive Vigilance has always been the focus area at Goa Shipyard Limited. To further this objective, GSL observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th Oct to 04th Nov 2017 in line with CVC directives.
The highlight of the week was marked by a talk followed by an interactive session with Dr. Muktesh Chander IPS, DGP, Goa who shared his experiences with GSL personnel. Insights into various aspects of corruption, together with the need for removal of discretion and a high degree of automation in systems and procedures at Govt. bodies were elaborated upon.
RAdm Shekhar Mital, CMD GSL explained that all of us need to be role models at work as well as to the society at large by following ethical practices in all spheres of life. This has a direct impact on one’s health and peace and also contributes towards building a better society.
The theme for Vigilance Awareness Week this year was “My Vision – Corruption Free India”. In order to make the youth aware of the evil effects of corruption and to inculcate high levels of integrity from school level itself, GSL organized various outreach programs for College and School students besides organizing various in-house programs amongst employees and CISF, such as Poster & Slogan writing, Essay competitions. One step further CVC Documentaries on Corruption and its evil effects have been screened to different sections together with sensitization program for newly inducted CISF personnel so as to promote their involvement in preventive vigilance activities at GSL.
GSL has complete transparency in all its domains and has implemented high technology system like Online Vendor Registration system, e-tendering, Bill Tracking System, Online Payment System etc resulting in a total corruption free atmosphere. Moreover, all the vendors have open access to higher management to raise grievances, if any. These initiatives have resulted in NIL corruption case in GSL over last few years.
