Inauguration of Tata Institute of Social Sciences New Campus at Guwahati Implemented by HSCL
New Delhi: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus, implemented by 'Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited' (HSCL) was inaugurated by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Education Minister of Assam on 31.05.2017 in the presence of senior officials of TISS and HSCL. The campus for TISS will be the Education Hub in the North East, offering various courses like BA, MA, MPhil, PhD in different specializations. The campus consists of various facilities like Classrooms having capacity of 40, 70 & 150 students, Faculty Room Building, Research Staff & PhD Students Building, Admin Staff & Programme Secretary Building, Hostel facilities both for Men and Women separately, Conference & Seminar Hall, Guest House, Accommodation facilities for Faculty and Senior Administrator along with the external Infrastructures like Road Network, RWH, STP, WTP, Open Air Theatre etc. 32nd Convocation of TISS was also held there on 31.05.2017 to commemorate the event . Classrooms and Faculty Room Building are ready to start the academic session from July 2017 in the new campus and accordingly TISS is shifting from their temporary campus to the new campus.
