Titagarh Rail Systems shares surged over 2.57% to Rs 1,115 after the company handed over its first driverless, made-in-India trainset to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation's (BMRCL) yellow line. This marks a significant milestone in India's urban mobility journey. The railway manufacturing company will deliver two more trainsets to the Yellow Line by April this year.

It added that the company will then ramp up production, delivering two trains a month by September 2025. The company built the trainset in its metro manufacturing facility in Uttarpara West Bengal. The trainset boasts several advanced features, including fully automated driverless operations (Grade of Automation 4), reduced power consumption, enhanced passenger safety, and a sleek, modern interior design aimed at providing a seamless travel experience. As the first stainless-steel metro trainset produced by Titagarh, it sets new benchmarks for innovation and sustainability.

The official handover highlights Titagarh's reputation as a leading manufacturer of advanced, world-class trains while emphasizing India's emergence as a global hub for railway manufacturing.

This event also celebrated the launch of the Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line and showcased the capabilities of Titagarh's Metro Manufacturing Facility in Uttarpara, West Bengal. These milestones reflect the company's strong commitment to advancing urban mobility in India and highlight its growing manufacturing capabilities and innovative approach within the railway sector.
