NCL to organize International Conference 'ICOMS 2021 on 13-14th Dec 2021

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company of the Government of India, is organizing the International Conference on Open Cast Mining Technology and Sustainability “ICOMS 2021” for the fourth time in a row. This conference is being organized on 13th and 14th December in association with IIT, BHU, Varanasi as a knowledge partner, on the occasion of World Energy Day.
Currently, the energy sector in India is dominated by coal, which is slowly being replaced by environment-friendly “Green Energy”. This is the transitory stage and it is significant for the Coal Industry to reorient itself to remain relevant in the energy sector in a sustainable manner.
This international conference will give thrust on ensuring the nation's self-reliance in the energy sector through sustainable & eco-friendly coal Mining where the eminent academicians, scientists, and coal stalwarts will share and document their knowledge and insights through research papers, technical posters, exhibitions, and deliberations.
This conference will also foster to reorient the coal mining industry towards sustainability and green mining practices.
The conference will be primarily focused on Production, productivity, and safety in Opencast mining, Environmentally Sustainable Methods, Energy security, eco-friendly logistics infrastructure, Social Sustainability, Renewable Energy and Clean Coal Technologies, Advanced Materials for Energy, etc.
Henceforth, hundreds of research papers have been received from the country and abroad for "ICOMS 2021", out of which the best-selected research papers will be presented by the concerned scientists, academicians, and technical experts during the conference.
During the conference, NCL will also provide an exhibition platform to the small-scale industries and multinational companies to showcase their latest technologies, heavy machines, innovative and sustainable tools related to the mining sector.

During this conference, the “Young Scientist Award” and Budding Innovators Award will be conferred for the best Innovative Ideas & unique Business Solutions related to Coal Sector.
