NLC India won 'The GEEF Global Environment Award 2024'
The Sustainable enviro-friendly works of NLCIL has been recognized at various platforms.
New Delhi: NLC India Limited, since its inception in 1957, committed to environment-friendly mining and power generation by adopting the latest technologies complying with latest statutory requirements and proactive approaches.
NLCIL’s best land reclamation practices, waste minimization cum utilization techniques to conserve natural resources, integrated water management system, introducing clean and energy efficient technologies reflect in the lush green cover created over the period of six decades in and around the Neyveli region.
The way forward thinking of NLCIL for conserving biodiversity, and maintaining ecological balance towards long-term positive impact on the surrounding community and the employees, achieved the objectives of its Corporate Environment Policy. The Sustainable enviro-friendly works of NLCIL has been recognized at various platforms.

The summit centered around discussions on facilitating India's transition to clean energy, emphasizing affordability, sustainability, and energy independence. It featured significant conference tracks under the theme "Empowering Clean Energy & Competitive Future.
NLCIL won this award for its efforts in the sustainable development initiatives such as the concurrent mine reclamation, extensive greenbelt development, implementation of Air Pollution control measures to maintain Ambient Air quality in and around Neyveli, better water quality management system which takes care of providing water for agriculture in its surrounding villages around Neyveli, and also for its social welfare measures like providing clean water for domestic and irrigation purposes etc.
