NRL inks MoU with Assam Govt for setting up High-Performance Sports Training

New Delhi: NRL inks an MoU with the Government of Assam for setting up High-Performance Sports Training and Rehabilitation Centres, NRL associated with the path-breaking initiative to promote sports and its greater endeavour of making Assam the sports capital of the country.
The MoU is expected to have a cascading effect on the sports ecosystem of the state of Assam and would be a huge boost for identifying and nurturing sporting talents to reach their potential, creating many more shining stars of the likes of Lovlina Borgohain and Hima Das for the State of Assam.
Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Nibedan Das Patowary signed the MoU on behalf of the government of Assam and Olympian Abhinav Bindra signed the same on behalf of Abhinav Futuristics Pvt. Limited. Similarly, Chief General Manager (HR), OIL Ranjan Goswami signed the MoU for OIL and CGM (HR), NRL Kajal Saikia signed the MoU for NRL. The State government will fund the expenses of the Guwahati centre while Oil India Ltd and Numaligarh Refinery Ltd will contribute their CSR towards the Jorhat centre.
The MoU Signing Ceremony was attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, VC of Abhinav Futuristics Pvt Ltd Abhinav A. Bindra, Chairman & MD of Oil India Limited Dr. Ranjit Rath and NRL MD Mr. Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan.
