NSIC signs MoU with LG Electronics to set up Centre of Excellence for MSME Sector
New Delhi: NSIC signs MoU with LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd and Electronics Sector Skills Council of India on July 22, 2022 in the presence of Shri Narayan Rane, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Hon'ble Minister of State, Shri B. B Swain, Secretary MSME, Shri P. Udayakumar, CMD, NSIC, Shailesh Kumar Singh, AS&DC(MSME).
In this endeavor, the LG Electronics and Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) will set up a “Centre of Excellence” at NSIC - Technical Services Centre aimed at training underprivileged youth in the fields of consumer electronics and appliances.
This will open new avenues in the field of electronics for the youth and generate skilled manpower for employment in this sector. In the first year, 600 youth per year would be benefitted on electronics goods servicing and repairing.
The NSIC will facilitate passed out trainees in job fairs along with the sector skills council and LG Electronics will give them job preference to NSIC - Technical Services Centre (Okhla) trainees NSIC Technical Services Centre, Okhla has been in the forefront of training the youth in various skills and entrepreneurship based training programmes. NSIC training programmes are industry centric and market-oriented.
The NTSC (Okhla) has been associated with various Industry leaders as knowledge partners such as Schneider Electric in Solar Energy Solutions and electrical, Delta in PLC, SCADA and Distributed Control Systems, Mitutoyo in Quality control, and Tallyin accounting. Using these technologies NTSC (Okhla) imparts industry-relevant technical skills to the trainees. The MoU was signed by Mr. O. P. Singh, Centre Head, NTSC(Okhla), and Mr. Tae Jin Chang, Head Customer Service, LG India.
