NTPC Bongaigaon organised an online communication and branding Workshop for senior executives from various domains within the station on 5th January,2022. Leading speakers from varied domains were invited to speak in the session.  

Smt. Krishna Hazarika Rao, DGM, PR Oil India Limited, Shri Trideep Lahkar, Chief Correspondent, PTI, Shri Manas Pratim Sarma, News Editor, All India Radio and Shri Pranjoy Arup Das, Branding Consultant and Adjunct Faculty, Assam Institute of Management were invited as speakersduring the programme.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Subrata Mandal, Executive Director, ED, NTPC Bongaigaon. Shri Mandal highlighted the importance of communications and changing media landscape and how all employees must be informed about the changing business scenario of the company and formulate the communication strategy accordingly. 

Shri T. Ravinder, GM (O&M) spoke on the importance of non-verbal communication which forms an important essence while formulating branding of an organisation. Earlier Shri A.K.Chawla, AGM (HR) gave the welcome address stressing the dynamics of communication.

Shri Pranjoy spoke on how organisations can communicate to stakeholders in an effective and customised manner. Shri Das also gave useful insights on branding tips for better visibility among stakeholders. 

Shri Trideep spoke on the importance of crisis communications and how corporates need to have a crisis communication plan in place for any unknown eventuality. He also spoke on the media expectations and how companies need to investigate the larger perspective while disseminating the news through the media. 

Ms. Krishna Hazarika Rao spoke on the purpose and narrative of communication and howorganisations need to have a uniform messaging across channels. She also gave case studies from Oil India Limited on involving stakeholders through various CSR initiatives.  

Shri Manas spoke on the importance of AIR, its penetration across the country and how organisations can use AIR for information dissemination on a larger scale.

All the speakers gave varied case studies of various companies and how NTPC as an organisation can further enhance its brand proposition among the stakeholders with the changing times.

The entire workshop was conducted in the form of a panel discussion moderatedby Shri Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, Sr.Manager, Corporate Communications through Microsoft Teams as a precautionary measure towards COVID 19.
