NTPC's Unique Initiative; developed LED Safety Reflective Jackets for mining
New Delhi: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters has developed Safety Reflective Jackets with LED lights through MSME vendor for distribution in its Coal Mines, to ensure improved visibility for personnel deployed in mines and siding during night hours.
Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) handed over these jackets to senior officials from Pakri Barwadih, Dulanga, Taliapalli, and Chattibariatu coal mines in a programme held recently.
On the occasion, Shri Mazumder shared that Safety Reflective Jackets with LED lights would enhance the safety standards and uphold our commitments in ensuring safety for our workforce working during dark hours at different mines. Safety is always a part of NTPC ‘s Core Value. The health and safety of the employees of NTPC and its associates are always NTPC’s top priority. The management gives utmost importance to providing a safe working environment and creating safety awareness among its employees.
Currently, three mines of NTPC are in operation and another mine is gearing up production to meet the increase in demand for coal for its power stations. By operational virtue, manpower is regularly engaged during dark hours in loading areas of Railway Wagons in siding areas, Loaders & Shovels inside the mines, Stockyard etc.
The use of these Safety Reflective Jackets with LED lights will add more safety to the personnel working during dark hours.
