NTPC Farakka Showcases Sustainable Initiatives at 25th National Exhibition
NTPC Farakka also showcased the ways it is using technology to uplift the lives of communities around.
New Delhi: NTPC Farakka is participating in the 25th National Exhibition organized by Central Calcutta Science and Culture Organization for Youth, from 24th to 27th August at Salt Lake, Kolkata.
The National Exhibition is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year, with the theme Self Reliant India: Progress, Prosperity and Sustainability. Prof. Saugata Roy, MP inaugurated the exhibition on 24th August. Celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the NTPC pavilion has displayed information about the various renewable energy projects commissioned by NTPC, through panels, corporate films, presentations and pamphlets.
The pavilion is attracting hundreds of school children, who are learning about NTPC, and the various sustainable technological marvels developed by NETRA, such as flue gas air conditioning, solar powered Seawater desalination system, fly ash geopolymer concrete road, solar-wind hybrid, solar-thermal hybrid, etc.
The center of attraction is the Selfie wall installed in the pavilion to highlight the importance of NTPC in the everyday lives of people. Children were especially eager to pose for the selfie.
NTPC Farakka also showcased the ways it is using technology to uplift the lives of communities around, such as the solar powered water pumps and high mast lights installed in villages, smart classes and sanitary napkin vending machines for local schools, etc.
The pavilion is imparting knowledge about the work done by NTPC and how closely it impacts the life of a common man. People visiting gave good feedback and were seen enjoying the exhibition.CMD, CMPDI inaugurates workshop on Knowledge Management.
