NTPC Korba inaugurates Girl Empowerment Mission 2024
Shri C. Sivakumar during his speech stated that in almost 40+ locations over 7500 girls have been trained by the Girl Empowerment Mission and NTPC is now funding 358 girls for their higher education.
NTPC Korba, on 22 May 2024, welcomed Shri C. Sivakumar, RED (WR-II, USSC & Ash New Initiatives) and Smt. C. Padamaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti.
Shri C. Sivakumar inaugurated the Girl Empowerment Mission 2024 in the august presence of Shri Sarit Maheshwari (BUH, Korba) and GMs namely, Shri Arnab Maitra (GM O&M), Shri Somnath Banerjee (GM Maintenance) and other senior officials. On this occasion, the convoy visited the Employee Development Centre where the classes of the GEM Girls will be held, ET Hostel- the abode of the GEM Girls, Yoga Ground and dining area for the GEM girls.

Padamaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti also distributed kits to the GEM Girls of the Batch 2024. The sweet magic of the cheerful faces of the girls reflected their happiness for being a part of the Girl Empowerment Mission program.
Following the program schedule, in the evening a cultural program was organized for the inaugural ceremony of GEM 2024. The program started with the lighting of the lamp and a Ganesh Vandana.

Smt. C. Padamaja also encouraged and blessed the GEM Girls for their brighter future of new endeavours.

On 23 May 2024, during the departure of Shri C. Sivakumar, RED (WR-II, USSC & Ash New Initiatives) and Smt. C. Padamaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti, planted trees at the Kaveri Bhawan Guest House leaving a mark of their gracious presence at NTPC Korba.
