To Build High-Performance Sports Center in Jorhat OIL India Partners with Abhinav Futuristic Ltd.

NEW DELHI- OIL signed an MoU with the Govt of Assam for building a High-Performance Sports, Training & Rehabilitation Center at Jorhat with Abhinav Futuristic Ltd of Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav A. Bindra. 

Hon’ble CM graced the occasion, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Dr Ranjit Rath CMD, OIL. Hon'ble CM praised OIL for promoting Sports in Assam while CMD OIL thanked the CM, Assam for his continued support towards OIL. Shri Ranjan Goswami, CGM (PR), OIL & Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, GoA signed the MoU. 

Oil India Limited (OIL) is a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. It has been actively promoting sports and fitness among its employees and the community at large. 

The proposed sports center will be built on a 20-acre land provided by the Government of Assam at Jorhat. The center will have world-class infrastructure and facilities for various sports, including athletics, football, hockey, boxing, weightlifting, and shooting. It will also have a state-of-the-art training and rehabilitation center for injured athletes.

The collaboration with Abhinav Futuristic Ltd. (AFL) will bring in the expertise of Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav A. Bindra, who is a renowned sportsman and an entrepreneur. AFL will provide technical and operational support for the development of the sports center and will also manage the center's day-to-day operations.

The sports center will not only promote sports and fitness but will also help in the development of talented athletes from Assam and other parts of the country. It will provide a platform for athletes to hone their skills and compete at the national and international levels.
