PM Modi to inaugurate first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi

During the visit, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders will discuss ways to further deepen, expand, and strengthen the strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha BAPS Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. The inauguration will proceed while the PM will be on a two-day official visit to the UAE. The commencement of the tour is on 13 February.

During the visit, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders will discuss ways to further deepen, expand, and strengthen the strategic partnership between the countries and will exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The visit will be the seventh in a row for Prime Minister Modi to the UAE since 2015.

The dual mutual partnership between both countries enjoys warm, close, and multi-faceted relations underpinned by strong political, cultural, and economic linkages

Both countries signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement CEPA in February 2022 and a Local Currency Settlement [LCS] system in July last year to promote the use of Indian Rupee and United Arab Emirates Dirham for cross-border transactions. Both countries are among each other's top trading partners with a bilateral trade of about 85 billion dollars in 2022-23.
