BHEL receives KAVACH Equipment order from South Western Railway
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured an order worth RS 22.87 crore from Indian Railways for designing and supplying KAVACH safety equipment.

Defence PSU, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received an order from Indian Railways (South Western Railway). The Letter of Intent was received on 11.09.2025 for the Design, development, supply, installation, trial and commissioning of On-board KAVACH equipment in locomotives and trackside KAVACH equipment at station/LC/IB/ABS locations along with associated works in South Western Railway. The Kavach Equipment are to be manufactured at BHEL’s Bengaluru plant.

The Nature of the order is to Design, development, supply, installation, trial and commissioning of On-board KAVACH equipment in locomotives and trackside KAVACH equipment at station/LC/IB/ABS locations along with associated works. The time period by which the order is to be executed is 18-months. The cost of the project is Rs 22.87 crore. Shares of BHEL are trading down by 0.14% at Rs 228.74 at BSE.
