Phone Pe to unveil AI-powered feature to pay through voice or text commands

New Delhi, Feb 21, 2026: Digital Payments and Financial Services, Phone Pe has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered natural language search feature which would allow users to complete in-app tasks using text or voice commands with the on-going AI growth ecosystem.

The feature has been built by using Microsoft Foundry which aims to simplify and ease payments by releasing guidelines directly to their intended actions without any trouble of traditional navigation. Further, this feature can process commands automatically while opening the relevant payment interface or displaying the correct information.

The launch has been initiated at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi where policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers had been discussing the future of the country’s AI strategy. The feature marks an interpret user intent, whether making a payment or completing a purchase or seeking support, using a hybrid model of on-device along with cloud-based processing and keeping all personal and transactional data within the Phone Pe system. The feature is expected to be rolled-out in phases across India and will be accessible through the Global Search Bar, Help Centre, and History tab in the Phone Pe app.
