POWERGRID observes Vigilance Awareness Week
NEW DELHI. Vigilance Awareness week 2016 is being observed by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID) from 31st October to 5th November 2016. The theme of this year is “Public Participation in promoting Integrity and eradication Corruption”. The observance of Vigilance Awareness week commenced on Monday 31 October 2016 in all offices of POWERGRID with the administering of pledge to all employees by CMD, Shri I.S. Jha in presence of Shri V.K.Saksena, CVO along with Directors and of the Company .The messages received from the Hon’ble President, Prime Minister and other dignitaries were also read out to the employees. Dr. T.M.Bhasin, Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission,
Govt. of India addressed and apprised the employees of POWERGRID about the path breaking practices adopted by the Central Vigilance Commission for making vigilance more people friendly. On this occasion a rich tribute was also paid to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his birth anniversary that is being observed as National Unity Day across the country.
On this occasion various programmes are being organised by POWERGRID, including quiz and debate competition among school students of Delhi/NCR and internal employees, Nukkad Nataks, Essay Writing, on the theme of eradicating corruption and promoting integrity. An inter-school debate competition involving 20 schools from Delhi and Gurgaon was organised by POWERGRID through Amity International School, Sector – 43, Gurgaon in which 60 school children directly participated and were supported by 100 senior school children. The winning teams received prizes from the hands of Shri V.K. Saksena, CVO and Smt Shreya Dhoundial, Sr Editor, New18 who also graced the occasion and encouraged the children of the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week.
