Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL), under the Gujarat government stated in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that "Gujarat government has appointed Raj Kumar (DIN: 00294527) as Chairman and Director on the Board of Directors of the company."

NEW DELHI- Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL), under the Gujarat government stated in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that "Gujarat government has appointed Raj Kumar (DIN: 00294527) as Chairman and Director on the Board of Directors of the company."
The filing said, "It is further affirmed that Raj Kumar, lAS is not debarred from holding office of director by virtue of any SEBI order or any such authority and he is not related of any other Director of the company."
About Raj Kumar-
Raj Kumar is a Gujarat cadre officer of Indian Administrative Services belonging to 1987 batch. He possesses a degree of BTech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and master's in public policy from GRIPS, Tokyo, Japan. He commands a vast and varied experience. As an lAS officer, Kumar has worked in various capacities covering a wide spectrum of government departments, both at state and central level.
Presently, Kumar is the Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat (G0G). Before being appointed as Chief Secretary, GoG, Kumar served as Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department. He has also served as Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. He has been Chairman/Managing Director in many central and state PSUs. He also holds directorships on the boards of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited, Gujarat State Petronet Limited, Gujarat Gas Limited and various other companies.
During his long spanning career, Kumar has also participated in various national and international training programmes, covering a wide range of topics. He has received many awards during his career in recognition of excellence in service and he also has several publications to his credit.
