New Delhi: A Vendors’ Development Program (VDP) was organized by Durgapur Steel Plant on 23.09.2022. The VDP program was primarily focused on providing a common platform to MSEs to interact with each other with a view to identifying emerging demands of the buyer organizations while simultaneously providing an opportunity for displaying the capabilities of the small scale entrepreneurs and their industrial ventures.
The session graced with keynote address and inauguration by Sri K Bhattacharjee, ED (MM), DSP & ASP, while the program was guided by Sri S Mishra, CGM(Maint.) , Sri Sanjeew Singh, CGM(Mech),DSP and Sri T Vinod,CGM(MM),DSP. It was also attended by officials from District Industries Centre of West Bengal Government, CMERI Durgapur and officials from Invoicemart apart from other stakeholders. The session saw an active participation of MSE Entrepreneurs.
During the session, ED (MM), Sri Bhattacharjee acknowledged the contribution of MSEs as the backbone of the Indian economy and emphasized on MSE sector emerging as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy in terms of sustainable growth, employment generation, increasing trade, development of entrepreneurial skills and contribution to export earnings. SAIL, Durgapur Steel Plant being a responsible CPSU has implemented policies for development of MSEs.
During discussion, Sri Bhattacharjee also informed the gathering regarding substantial increase in the numbers of items reservation at DSP for exclusive procurement from local MSEs. During the program, MSEs were acquainted with the concept & importance of ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) Scheme and ‘Make in India’ Scheme of Govt. of India and were encouraged to create value chain through ZED certification. MSEs were also advised to avail the Technical Infrastructure and Skill Development Program provided by CMERI, Durgapur.
The advantages of payment through Invoicemart platform were explained to them for better working capital management along with encouraging them to avail the benefits under the scheme of Ispati Ilakon Ka Vikash-SAIL ke Saath”. The various policies of Govt. of West Bengal for MSEs were explained and displayed for availing the schemes.
Thereafter an interaction session was held, whereby various queries, issues and concerns of the representatives of MSEs were addressed by SAIL DSP officials. At the end of the session, the participants were felicitated by Sri K Bhattacharjee, Executive Director (MM),DSP &ASP. The session concluded with vote of thanks by Sri RL Paras,GM (MM) DSP and a group photo of the participants present during the program.
