New Delhi: The Society for Human Resource Management, also known as SHRM, is a professional human resources membership association. For 75 years, SHRM has elevated HR and people management by smashing stereotypes, reskilling, and closing the generation gap.

SHRM India has included, for all PSE organizations and government organizations in India, an additional feature of conducting webinars on relevant and contemporary topics for organizational employees upon signing SHRM Membership at the Organizational level.
As part of the SHRM Membership Knowledge Forum, a virtual webinar was organized on 13th July 23 for NTPC. NTPC has organizational SHRM employee memberships and has conducted many such knowledge seminars.

The session was led by Mr. Shaakun Khanna, Vice President & Head, SAAS Alliances & Channels, Asia Pacific, Oracle. He is a known public speaker and talks about technology, leadership, and the future of work. The Webinar was inaugurated by Sh. Anil Kumar Jadli, General Manager (HR), COE-HR, at NTPC, while the Vote of Thanks was given by Sh. Chandramauli S Jangbahadur, General Manager (HR), COE-HR, at NTPC. The session was very well received, and more than hundred HR and people managers of NTPC keenly listened in and asked questions on the subject.
At the webinar, Mr. Shaakun Khanna discussed that AI applications in the HR and people management domain help automate repetitive tasks allowing HR professionals and managers to focus on strategic initiatives and higher-value activities, transforming traditional practices. He talked about some critical applications of AI in HR like Talent Acquisition, Personalization and Employee Experience, Learning & Development, Predictive Analytics for Preparing for the Future, Performance Analysis, and Succession Planning.

He also highlighted that continuous skill building in the new age technology workplace is a must, and AI tools are changing our way of working forever.
He also educated the participants on Developing AI Literacy, Embrace Continuous Learning, and fostering a Culture of Adaptability.
Also speaking at the webinar, Ms. Neetika Mittal, Senior Knowledge Advisor at SHRM India, informed NTPC participants of the various knowledge articles, and tools around the topic of AI which are very relevant and have been created by experts available to them through the SHRM Memberships.
