Two of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant touches new peaks in single day production

Buoyed with the enthusiasm of Vishwakarma Puja, the employees of Hot Strip Mill – 2 of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) created a new record in single-day production. On 18th September 2022, the Mill rolled 8328 tons of slabs and produced a coil weighing 8090 tons of Hot Rolled Coils, which is its best performance since inception.

The previous best single-day rolling of 7561 tons of slab and 7398 Tons of coil was achieved on 10th September 2022.

Congratulating the HSM-2 collective, Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge has expressed his wish to see the Mill touching the single-day rolling of more than 9000 Tons of Slab and coil very soon.     

Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works), visited HSM-2 on the 19th of September to congratulate the collective for the remarkable performance and presented sweets to the employees. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Suryawanshi said, “We must focus on sustaining the momentum. The best is yet to come.” 

Mr. D. Dutta, CGM In-charge (HSMs), Mr. R K Muduli, CGM(HSM-2), and other senior officers were present on the occasion. The HSM-2 and associated department collective assured the top management of their commitment to give the best for taking the plant to greater heights.
