Odisha, February 4, 2026 – Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, laid the foundation stone for two flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of NTPC Limited in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. The projects include a 1,000-seater Assembly Hall-cum-Cultural Centre and the establishment of a state-of-the-art Archery Centre.
The Assembly Hall-cum-Cultural Centre, to be developed on approximately 3.3 acres, is envisioned as a multi-purpose facility. It will host cultural events, public gatherings, academic programs, and skill development initiatives. Additionally, the centre will function as a disaster management hub during emergencies, while also promoting and preserving the rich tribal heritage of the region.
The Archery Centre in Rairangpur will be equipped with modern training infrastructure, sports equipment, dedicated archery ranges, and residential facilities to nurture local talent across all age groups. NTPC has committed to establishing similar Archery Academies/Centres in three districts of Odisha, including Mayurbhanj, to support grassroots development of archery.
These initiatives reflect NTPC’s continued focus on inclusive social development, community empowerment, sports promotion, and preservation of cultural heritage in Odisha. The projects are expected to provide significant opportunities for education, skill-building, and sports excellence in the region.
