Central Railway GM felicitates 11 employees with Safety Awards
Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, GM of Central Railway, presented Safety Awards to 11 employees for their alertness and contribution in preventing accidents, ensuring passenger and operational safety.

Mumbai, December 3, 2025 — Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, General Manager of Central Railway, felicitated 11 employees from across the railway divisions with the prestigious Safety Award at a ceremony held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai.
The award recognized the employees’ alertness and exemplary contribution in preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of train operations in the previous months. Each award included a medal, a commendation certificate, a citation highlighting their contribution, and a cash prize of ₹3,500.
Awardees from Mumbai Division included Shri Amresh Kumar Singh, Shri Sandeep Patil, and Shri Mohan Singh Dagar, who detected hanging train parts and rail fractures during duty, preventing potential mishaps. From Pune Division, Shri D K Yadav, Shri Narendra Rajaram Kumbhar, Shri Chetan Ashok Bhalwankar, and Shri Mahesh Umesh averted operational errors, saved a passenger from a running train, and identified defects in rolling stock.
Nagpur Division awardees, Shri Ravi Varma and Shri Rajesh Rupchand Raut, detected smoke and rail fractures during duty, averting potential accidents. Shri Vikram Meena from Solapur Division and Shri L J Chaudhry from Bhusaval Division also played a critical role in identifying hot axles and defective train components, ensuring safe operations.
Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta congratulated the awardees for their commitment to duty and vigilance, expressing confidence that their example would inspire colleagues to maintain the highest standards of passenger safety and protect railway assets. Shri Prateek Goswami, Additional General Manager, Shri Chandra Kishore Prasad, Principal Chief Safety Officer, along with other senior officials, were present at the function.
