Engineers India and Indian Oil achieves Milestone
The project will raise the refinery's capacity from the current 15 million tonnes per year (mtpy) to 25 mtpy, a 67% increase. This will help meet India's growing demand for petroleum products.
New Delhi: Teams of Engineers India Limited and Indian Oil Corporation achieved a major milestone at the P-25 project in Panipat Refinery of IOCL with the successful completion of the concrete casting of the raft of Technical Structure-03 of the Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Unit (AVU), making it the largest single pour of RCC of the project to date.
What is Indian Oil's P-25 project?
The P-25 project is a major expansion project currently underway at the Panipat Refinery, owned by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Panipat, Haryana, India. It aims to significantly increase the refinery's capacity and production of petroleum products and petrochemicals.

The project was approved in February 2021 and is currently in the execution phase and expected to be commissioned by September 2024.
EIL and IOCL both have collaborated on various projects throughout India, for the country's oil and gas sector which includes Panipat Refinery Expansion Projects, Paradip-Somnathpur-Haldia Pipeline and other central refinery projects.
