GAIL Hosts Pan-India Confluence to Strengthen CGD Network and Natural Gas Supply

GAIL (India) Limited organised a Pan-India Confluence on 3 July 2026 under the theme "Fostering Synergy for Seamless Gas Supply", bringing together City Gas Distribution (CGD) stakeholders from across the country. Organised by the company's Corporate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, the event focused on strengthening collaboration to ensure a reliable, sustainable, and resilient natural gas supply for CNG and PNG consumers.

The confluence served as a strategic platform to discuss the future of India’s city gas distribution ecosystem, highlighting the increasing importance of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the country’s clean energy transition. Participants also deliberated on the impact of recent geopolitical developments in West Asia, which have reinforced the need for a robust and secure domestic gas infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sanjay Kumar, Director (Marketing), GAIL, emphasised the importance of collaborative forums in shaping India's energy future. He highlighted the need for continuous dialogue on future gas demand, supply resilience, infrastructure preparedness, and coordinated strategies to meet the country's growing energy requirements.

The discussions also underscored the Government of India's continued push to expand PNG connections for household cooking, recognising natural gas as a cleaner, safer, and more energy-efficient fuel. Stakeholders explored ways to improve operational coordination and enhance supply chain resilience to support the rapid expansion of the CGD network.

The event witnessed the participation of GAIL’s senior leadership, including Executive Directors from Corporate O&M, Projects, Pipeline Division (PD), and Northern Region (NR), reflecting the company's commitment to strengthening partnerships across the natural gas value chain.
