HAL's ALH Dhruv Helicopters Begins Flying Operations

New Delhi: The HAL Dhruv a utility helicopter designed and developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) began its flying operation. The company in a letter dated May 1, 2023 states that "the fleet of ALH Dhruv Helicopters has again started Flying Operations." 

Earlier the MK 3 helicopter on March 8 made an emergency water landing off the coast of Mumbai, and on 26 March 2023, it faced a terrible accident, soon after takeoff from a height of 25 ft near the main runway at Kochi Airport where three Indian Coast Guard servicemen on board survived with minor injuries.

Due to this, the operations have been halted and further investigation has been carried out for the same. 

As of January 2022, 335 HAL Dhruv have been produced for domestic and export markets logging more than 340,000 flying hours.
