HOCL Commences Reopening of Phenol and Hydrogen Peroxide Plants at Kochi Unit
Mumbai: Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL) has officially informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that it has initiated the reopening process for its Phenol and Hydrogen Peroxide manufacturing plants with effect from July 5, 2026.
The corporate announcement follows a period of temporary operations suspension at these facilities, which had been previously communicated to the exchange during June 2026.
Compliance and Regulatory Filing
The regulatory disclosure was submitted by Subramonian H, the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd. The intimation was made in strict compliance with Regulation 30, read alongside Schedule III Part A Para B of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
This development serves as a follow-up to HOCL's earlier letters dated June 3, 2026, and June 22, 2026, which originally informed the market and stakeholders regarding the scheduled temporary shutdown of both chemical plants.
Operational Relevance
The resumption of operations at the Phenol and Hydrogen Peroxide units is critical for HOCL, as these plants form the core production matrix of its manufacturing facility. Phenol and Hydrogen Peroxide serve as vital raw materials for various downstream industries, including pharmaceuticals, resins, plastics, and paper manufacturing. The restart of these units signifies a return to regular production capacities and supply commitments.
