IREDA CMD Highlights MSMEs as Backbone of Economy at 22nd Stakeholders’ Meet
New Delhi, February 24, 2026: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) held its 22nd Stakeholders’ Interaction Meet at the India International Centre, chaired by Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director. The event saw active participation from around 100 borrowers and business partners across the renewable energy value chain.

Presentation of Achievements: The meet commenced with a presentation on IREDA’s recent achievements, financial performance, key initiatives, and an Action Taken Report on issues raised in the previous interaction.

Sectoral Discussions: Stakeholders engaged with management on policy updates, financing norms, and sectoral challenges, receiving clarifications on interest rates, fund mobilization, and support mechanisms.

Focus on MSMEs: Addressing the gathering, Shri Das emphasized that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Indian economy. He highlighted their pivotal role in achieving the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047 and stressed that good corporate governance among MSMEs enables access to financing at lower costs.

Asset Quality and Governance: Shri Das reiterated the importance of maintaining asset quality and adhering to high standards of corporate governance for IREDA’s long-term sustainability. He noted that the organization’s approach is to mobilize funds from the lowest-cost sources and pass the benefit to developers, aligned with RBI and other regulatory guidelines.

Strengthening Human Resources: IREDA has bolstered manpower at all levels—entry, middle, and senior management—drawing talent from CPSEs, banks, private companies, and executive trainees from leading campuses, to enhance leadership capacity and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement: CMD and senior officials addressed queries from participants on financing, policy, and operational challenges, ensuring transparency and clarity.
The meet concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), marking another step in IREDA’s commitment to fostering a robust renewable energy ecosystem in India.
