ITI Limited Secures Rs 72.76 Crore Ice Hockey Project in Himachal Pradesh
NEW DELHI: State-owned ITI Limited has secured a major infrastructure project worth Rs 72.76 crore for the construction of an Ice Hockey Rink in Kaza, Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
The project has been awarded by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul and Spiti and aims to strengthen winter sports infrastructure in the high-altitude region of Spiti Valley.
Project Highlights
ITI Limited will construct a full-scale ice hockey rink along with key supporting facilities including
500 kW solar power backup system
CCTV surveillance and lighting systems
Modern infrastructure for players and spectators
The project is part of the High-Altitude Sports Training Centre initiative, supporting youth development and sports tourism in the region located at around 12,000 feet above sea level.
Leadership Statement
ITI Limited Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Rai said the project will significantly improve ice hockey facilities in Himachal Pradesh and strengthen Spiti’s recognition as a winter sports destination.
He also highlighted ITI’s ongoing work in the state under BharatNet Phase III, where the company is laying over 20,000 km of cable and building the State Network Operation Center.
