Mahanadi Coalfields Engages Communities for CDLP Stakeholder Consultation

Odisha, March 7, 2026 – Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), in coordination with CMPDI RI–VII, conducted a comprehensive stakeholder consultation meeting across multiple operational areas to prepare the Community Development & Livelihood Plan (CDLP), aligned with the Ministry of Coal’s Mining Plan and C Guidelines–2025.

Officials engaged with community members, briefing them on the objectives of the CDLP and encouraging active participation in shaping future initiatives. Representatives from 23 surrounding villages in the Kaniha, Hingula, Bharatpur, Talcher, and Lingaraj areas attended the consultations, sharing insights on local livelihood needs, development priorities, and community aspirations.

The meetings emphasized stakeholder sensitization and ensured that community inputs are incorporated into future programs, reinforcing MCL’s commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth in mining-affected areas.
