Kolkata, March 7, 2026: RITES Limited, the Government of India enterprise and leading engineering consultancy, has secured a significant work order from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate, Government of West Bengal. The order pertains to consultancy services as Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the construction of a proposed 4-lane extradosed bridge over the River Muriganga, including approaches connecting Kachuberia (Sagar Island) with Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district.

The total value of the contract is ₹45.19 crore (excluding GST), with a project execution timeline of 48 months. The assignment will cover the entire design and construction supervision of the bridge as the Authority Engineer, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and project timelines.

This order is a domestic project and involves direct collaboration between a state government and a government-owned enterprise. RITES confirmed that the transaction is conducted at arm’s length, with no related party involvement.
