Maharatna PSU, BPCL on verge to unlock true potential of offshore fuel logistics efficiency
New Delhi, 18 FEB, 2026: The largest Oil major Maharatna PSU, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has been engaged in maintaining the core structure of potential unlocking and evolving as energy mammoth for country’s energy fuel transition journey while competing with global standards to stand at par.
The company has recently achieved a bold stride in offshore engineering which reflects India’s growing Make-in-India initiative in fuel logistics in the journey towards energy self-sufficiency under the vision of Viksit Bharat in 2047.
In a demanding inter-tidal zone, where tidal windows constantly shift and precision cannot falter, BPCL completed a 10-inch x 2.3 km Offshore Sea-to-Land Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) pull under the Mumbai-Rasayani Pipeline Project, marking one of India’s first offshore HDD crossings of this scale.
According to the company’s official post, this achievement reflects the energy PSU’s commitment to advancing technical capability, enhancing infrastructure resilience, and delivering complex projects with precision, safety, and operational excellence.
With this, the company has stated that BPCL Mumbai–Rasayani Pipeline Project demonstrates advanced engineering and precision execution in challenging inter-tidal conditions, while strengthening fuel logistics, minimising energy loss and reducing carbon emissions.
