New Delhi: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has inaugurated an Advanced Mobile Leak Detection System (AMLD), a vehicle-mounted solution designed to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of real-time gas leak detection across the company's distribution network.

With this initiative, MGL has become India's first City Gas Distribution (CGD) company to own and operate this advanced mobile leak detection technology, setting a new benchmark in environment protection, operational safety and technological innovation in the sector.

The AMLD vehicle-mounted solution enables faster identification of potential gas leakages over large pipeline networks, helping improve response times and strengthen preventive maintenance practices.

The company said the deployment of the system reflects its continued commitment to enhancing operational capabilities through the adoption of advanced technologies and improving the safety and reliability of its gas distribution infrastructure.

The latest technology addition is expected to support proactive monitoring of gas pipelines, improve network integrity and contribute towards safer and more efficient city gas distribution operations.
