NALCO Completes Key Land Lease Process for Pottangi Bauxite Mines Project
Bhubaneswar, August 26, 2026 — National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has completed a major land acquisition milestone for its Pottangi Bauxite Mines project in Koraput, Odisha, with the signing of the Government Land Lease Deed.
The agreement covers land required for the Overland Conveyor Corridor and Water Intake Facility, supporting the development and operationalisation of NALCO’s captive Pottangi bauxite mines.
Why It Matters
The completion of the land lease process is an important step toward operationalising the Pottangi Bauxite Mines, which is expected to strengthen NALCO’s captive raw-material supply chain.
The lease deed was signed by ED (M&R), NALCO, and CGM (Land), IDCO, in the presence of Shri Jagdish Arora, Director (P&T), NALCO. Officials from Semiliguda and Pottangi were also present.
