New Delhi: State-owned NTPC Limited has invited bids for a major transportation contract worth ₹55.93 crore. The company is looking for an agency to transport 4 lakh cubic metres of pond ash from the ash dyke of NTPC Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station to the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata Highway Project being developed under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The tender has been issued through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and the selected contractor will execute the work over a period of one year.

Contract Value and Security

According to the tender document, the estimated contract value is ₹55,93,13,320.

Bidders will have to submit:

  • Earnest Money Deposit (EMD): ₹1 crore

  • Performance Bank Guarantee (ePBG): 5% of the contract value

Scope of Work

The successful bidder will be responsible for transporting 4 lakh cubic metres of pond ash from NTPC Vindhyachal's ash dyke in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, to the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata Highway Project under NHAI. The work will be carried out on a lump-sum basis through the RCR mode.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Interested bidders must submit documents related to:

  • Technical experience

  • Financial turnover

  • GST and PAN registration

  • Mandatory declarations

  • Site visit undertaking

  • Qualifying Requirement (QR) documents certified by the prescribed authority

The tender clearly states that no relaxation in experience or turnover has been provided for MSMEs or startups.

 

Payment Terms

NTPC said payments will be released within 45 days after the issue of the Service Delivery Acceptance Certificate (SDAC) and submission of online bills.

Important Conditions

The tender will follow a two-bid system. It also includes mandatory conditions related to integrity, safety, anti-bribery policy, conflict of interest, local content requirements and site inspection.
