NTPC Green Energy Commissions First 50.4 MW Phase of Vanki Wind Project in Gujarat

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commencement of commercial operations of the first 50.4 MW phase of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat. The project, developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), became commercially operational from 12:00 a.m. on July 8, 2026.

The company informed the stock exchanges about the development through a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The Vanki Wind Energy Project is located in Nakhatrana in the Kutch district of Gujarat, one of India's leading regions for wind power generation.

With the commissioning of the 50.4 MW capacity, the total commercial operating capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has increased to 10,671.40 MW. At the same time, the group's total installed renewable energy capacity has risen from 10,671.40 MW to 10,721.80 MW.

The addition marks another milestone in NTPC Green Energy's expansion of its renewable energy portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to increasing clean energy generation across the country.

The Vanki Wind Energy Project is expected to contribute to India's renewable energy targets by supplying clean electricity to the grid while reducing carbon emissions. Gujarat continues to play a key role in the country's energy transition due to its strong wind resources and supportive renewable energy infrastructure.
