NTPC Green Subsidiary Inks Massive 1,200 MW Solar Power Agreement with PTC India
New Delhi: In a major expansion of its clean energy market presence, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has signed a landmark Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PTC India Limited. Under this bilateral arrangement, NTPC REL will supply 1,200 MW of solar power to PTC India, boosting the distribution of green energy across the national grid.
The corporate milestone was communicated through a SEBI Regulation 30 exchange filing on July 3, 2026, submitted by Deepak C S, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL)—the parent firm of NTPC REL.
High-Level Execution and Collaboration
The strategic agreement was officially exchanged at an industry session attended by executive leadership from both organizations:
-
Key Leadership Present: The documents were traded in the presence of Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Managing Director & CEO of PTC India Limited, and Dr. J. S. Chandok, CEO of ONGPL, alongside senior administrative heads from NGEL, NTPC REL, and PTC India.
-
Corporate Structure: NTPC REL executes this project as a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (BSE Scrip Code: 544289; NSE Trading Symbol: NTPCGREEN), which serves as the core vehicle for the public sector utility giant NTPC's green energy ambitions.
This large-scale bilateral off-take agreement underscores the growing trend of high-volume, corporate-to-corporate renewable energy procurement in India, bypassing traditional state discom tender limits to expedite clean energy integration.
