NTPC Kudgi Launches GEM-2025 to Empower 76 Girls
On the occasion of the commencement of GEM 2025, Shri Bidyanand Jha warmly welcomed the participants and their parents.

Kudgi, Vijayapura: NTPC Kudgi proudly inaugurated its flagship initiative, Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025, with the participation of 76 bright young girls from five project-affected villages Kudgi, Masuti, Golasangi, Telagi, and Muttagi. This mission is dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering young minds through holistic development.
The inaugural ceremony, held on 21st May 2025, was graced by Shri Bidyanand Jha (Executive Director, Kudgi), Smt. Anju Jha (President, Mitali Mahila Samiti), Shri Alokesh Banerjee (GM, Project), Shri U.K. Jain (GM, C&M), Shri Kalia S. Moorthy (HoHR), along with other senior NTPC officials and members of the Mitali Mahila Samiti.
On the occasion of the commencement of GEM 2025, Shri Bidyanand Jha warmly welcomed the participants and their parents. In his address, he highlighted the alignment of this initiative with the Government of India's ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ mission. He remarked, “Today marks the auspicious beginning of the Girl Empowerment Mission an initiative that aims to educate, inspire, and empower our young daughters to dream big and achieve even bigger.”

This year’s GEM program brings together students from 14 different schools across nearby rural areas, showcasing the increasing reach and significance of the initiative. Over the course of the workshop, participants will engage in an immersive experience that includes academic sessions, life skills training, yoga sessions, sports, and various co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

To celebrate the event, students from Bal Bharati School presented cultural performances, adding a joyful and inspiring note to the launch.
GEM is not just a workshop it is a transformative journey. By offering a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment, the initiative continues to inspire young girls to grow into confident, capable, and future-ready individuals.
