NTPC REL Invites Bids for 400kV Substation at Mandsaur Solar Project

New Delhi, July 3, 2026: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has started the bidding process for a 400kV substation that will support 900 MW of solar power projects in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.

What the Tender Offers

The company is looking for contractors to build and manage an Air Insulated Substation with 5 bays. This substation will connect solar power from three 300 MW plants to the national grid.

The work includes setting up automation systems, protection equipment, and meters that follow regulatory standards.

Who Can Apply

The eligibility criteria requires bidders to have experience in building high-voltage switchyards.

Companies that have built a 400 kV switchyard with at least 4 bays in the last 10 years can apply directly. Those with experience in 220 kV projects can also apply, provided they have also handled at least one 400 kV bay.

The average annual turnover of the bidder should be at least ₹27 crores over the last three financial years. Companies that do not meet this on their own can get support from their holding company.

Bid Security and Other Requirements

Bidders must submit a security deposit of ₹1 crore along with their bids. Those who fail to do so will have their bids rejected outright.

The project will be financed through NTPC REL's own resources and borrowings. The contract also includes a 3-year operation and maintenance period after the project is completed.

Interested companies need to register on the ETS portal and sign a non-disclosure agreement before they can download the bidding documents. All submissions must be made online.
