ONGC Clarifies Jambusar Boat Incident; Confirms No ONGC Employees Were Onboard
New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) expresses deep concern over the unfortunate boat capsize incident near Asarsa village on the Jambusar coast in Bharuch district, Gujarat, and clarifies that the personnel onboard were not ONGC employees. The vessel’s operation was neither managed nor supervised by ONGC.
The personnel were engaged by Asian Energy Services Ltd. (AESL) for a survey assignment. According to information from the district administration, the boat capsized within seconds due to sudden strong tidal currents.
The official clarification statement from Asian Energy Services regarding the recent unfortunate accident of boat capsize near the Jambusar coast, Gujarat.
“We are deeply distraught by the unfortunate boat capsize incident that was reported off the Jambusar coast, Gujarat. The boat involved in the incident was engaged by one of our subcontractors during an assignment, and we can confirm that no employee of Asian Energy was onboard.
We inform with deep sorrow that one crew member of the boat passed away, and one crew member is currently missing. We are in touch with the concerned family, and are extending all necessary assistance to the family during this difficult time.
