NMDC Signs MoU with GMDC to Explore Rare Earth Elements Collaboration

Ahmedabad, March 16, 2026: National Mineral Development Corporation Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration in the Rare Earth Elements (REE) sector.

The partnership will focus on developing an integrated rare earth value chain in Gujarat, encompassing exploration, mining, beneficiation, processing, and downstream applications, primarily leveraging GMDC’s Ambadungar Rare Earth deposit.

Objectives of the Collaboration

Assess technical and commercial feasibility of rare earth projects
Explore potential joint project development and business structures
Facilitate knowledge exchange and technical evaluation between NMDC and GMDC
Advance India’s capabilities in rare earths, reducing import dependency
Support clean energy technologies, advanced manufacturing, and strategic sectors
