ONGC Launches Phase-II of Real Time Operations Centre to Digitally Transform Drilling Operations

Mumbai: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has inaugurated Phase-II of its Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC) at the Institute of Drilling & Well Engineering (IDWE) in Dehradun, marking a major step in the company's digital transformation and operational efficiency initiatives.

The new facility was inaugurated by ONGC Chairman and CEO Arun Kumar Singh and brings the company's onshore and offshore drilling operations under a single real-time monitoring platform for the first time.

With the launch of RTOC Phase-II, IDWE will serve as ONGC's central hub for drilling execution, surveillance, and decision support. The integrated system is designed to provide continuous monitoring of drilling activities across the organisation, enabling faster decision-making and improved operational coordination.

The state-of-the-art centre offers 24x7 operational monitoring, real-time data management, advanced analytics, proactive alerts, expert technical advisories, and centralised support for drilling teams. The unified platform is expected to improve safety standards, reduce operational risks, and enhance drilling efficiency across ONGC's exploration and production assets.

By integrating well planning, live surveillance, and expert intervention into a single digital ecosystem, ONGC aims to strengthen operational performance while supporting faster and more informed decision-making.

The commissioning of the upgraded Real Time Operations Centre reflects ONGC's broader strategy of adopting advanced digital technologies to modernise its drilling operations and improve productivity across India's largest oil and gas exploration company.
