ONGC Tel Bhawan revives traditional puppetry to promote waste segregation & civic hygiene
DEHRADUN, JULY 04: As part of the ongoing nationwide cleanliness campaign, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Tel Bhawan, Dehradun, organised an engaging puppet show to spread critical awareness about cleanliness, personal hygiene, and waste segregation. The initiative focused on promoting responsible civic behaviour among employees and the local community.
The event used vibrant storytelling, colourful puppets, humour, and music to simplify complex environmental and waste management issues. By blending entertainment with education, the interactive program made important sustainability messages memorable and enjoyable for audiences across all age groups.
Reviving Traditional Art for Modern Awareness
Organised in active collaboration with the Mumkin Hai Development Foundation, the initiative brought together professional puppet artists, volunteers, and local community members. By choosing traditional puppetry over conventional modern media, ONGC successfully revived an old art form, proving it to be a highly effective medium for public awareness and community participation.
Driving Behavioral Change
The core objective of the programme was to reinforce a powerful message: meaningful environmental and behavioural change begins when communities learn, participate, and act together. Through this event, ONGC reiterated its commitment to fostering a cleaner, greener, healthier, and more sustainable India.
