POWERGRID celebrates 70th Independence Day
New Delhi. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited observed 70th Independence Day Celebrations in all its 200 offices located all over the country with immense gaiety and enthusiasm. The buildings of were decorated and a number of cultural programs were organised. Shri I.S.Jha, CMD, his wife and Shri R.P.Sasmal Director(Operations) alongwith employees of POWERGRID took the pledge for organ donation on this occasion.
Corporate Office provided furniture to two government primary schools in Gurgaon. These items were purchased from Tihar Jail, thereby, serving the dual purpose of providing appropriate price to the Tihar inmates apart from extending helping hand to the schools.
On this occasion, Chairperson Srishti Mahila Samaj Smt. Usha Jha gave awaycertificates and sewing machines to those girls from the lower income group who had completed 3 month training program run by the Samaj.
